I’m going to be upfront and admit I’ve seen maybe fifteen percent of an original “Hawaii Five-O” episode – it just didn’t take with me. But I DO know that iconic theme song – every time I hear it, I can see the wave curling over Waikiki.

And the folks at the show’s 2010 reboot knew to keep those iconic chords up front. So they remixed the OG theme into something a like more post-millennium and get viewers excited right off the bat.

Since the show’s essentially a police procedural with a killer setting, anything you can do to inject excitement in appreciated. And the show’s music supervisor delivered in spades.
